★ 5.0The Ben Salah Mosque in Marrakesh is a historic landmark known for its unique architecture and cultural significance. Unfortunately, due to the recent earthquake in Morocco, the structure has been weakened, and scaffolding now supports most parts of the building to prevent further damage. Despite this, the mosque remains an important site for visitors, offering insight into traditional Moroccan design. The current restoration efforts highlight the community’s dedication to preserving this architectural gem for future generations.

★ 4.0We did not visit the mosque itself, only could see it from a nearby restaurant - the Cafe-Snack Ben Masouri - where we stopped while strolling the narrow streets of old medina in Marrakech. There was a great view of the mosque tower from the restaurant rooftop (where we enjoyed our lunch) on that beautiful sunny day in February.
