Agadir
Morocco's beach resort capital, modern, sunny, and not very 'Moroccan'.
Weather in Agadir
Why visit Agadir
Agadir is a beach holiday destination, not a cultural experience. Long sandy beach, big hotels, year-round sun, family-friendly. It's where Europeans go for sun without much friction. The Berber Tachelhit-speaking south makes it culturally distinct from Marrakech/Fes, but most tourists stay in the beach zone and never see it.
Days needed
3–7 days (longer if it's a beach holiday)
Best time
October–April for sun without heat. Year-round really.

Know before you go
- ★ Agadir was destroyed by an earthquake in 1960 and rebuilt as a modern resort, so don't expect old medina charm.
- ★ The Berber south (south of Agadir) is culturally distinct: Tashelhit Berber, not Darija Arabic.
- ★ Wind picks up in afternoon, mornings are best for beach.
- ★ Taghazout (35 min north) is a far better base if you're interested in surf or a chiller scene.
