★ 5.0We had a wonderful 3-hour walking tour of the Medina and souks with Ismael from “Marrakech with Locals.” Ismael is an excellent local guide – knowledgeable, passionate, and genuinely proud of his city. He shared fascinating insights into the history, culture, daily life, and traditional crafts of Marrakech, bringing the Medina to life in a way that felt both informative and personal. The walk through the souks was especially engaging, with clear explanations of the different trades, materials, and traditions, and Ismael was always happy to answer questions. He struck a perfect balance between historical facts and local stories. The group atmosphere was very pleasant as well: a lovely family from Portugal and Hungary, a friendly couple from Singapore, and myself from Norway. Ismael made everyone feel welcome and included. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to truly understand Marrakech beyond just walking through it. A memorable and enriching experience.

Ismael is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history and traditions of his city. What made the tour even better is that Ismael was always open to questions and gave us plenty of helpful recommendations and tips for the rest of our stay. The tour is perfectly designed to give you a real sense of Marrakech – from the fascinating stories about its past to the lively atmosphere of the souks. Ismael not only guided us through the maze-like streets but also helped us understand the culture, daily life, and hidden gems that you might easily miss on your own. I highly recommend doing this activity on your very first day in Marrakech. It’s the best way to get oriented, learn about the city, and feel more confident exploring on your own afterwards. Overall, a truly valuable and enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting Marrakech.
